UPSC examination date declared. After clearing the Preliminary examination candidates need to appear for Main examination. Preliminary examination will be held on 24th August 2014. Civil Service Main examination will be held on 14th December 2014.

Delhi:  UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is one of the many constitutional bodies in India. It is authorised to conduct Competitive examinations and interviews for the recruitment of services under Central Government and union Government. Different UPSC examinations are Civil Services Preliminary and Main examination, Indian Forest Service Examination, Engineering Services Examination, NDA & NA Examination, CDS Examination, CMS Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination, Geologists Examination, Indian Economic Service Examination, Central police Forces Examination, Indian Police Service Examination.

UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam date declared. This examination will be held in two steps. First step to write this examination is Preliminary examination. Next step of this examination is Civil services Mains examination. After clearing the Preliminary examination candidates need to appear for Main examination. Preliminary examination will be held on 24th August 2014. Civil Service Main examination will be held on 14th December 2014. This examination consists of 9 written exams of 250 marks each. Results for this examination will be announced in the month of October.

Eligibility: Completion of Graduation is essential from any recognised university. Age limit for General Category candidates is 21 to 30 years. Age limit for OBC candidates is 21 to 33 years and age limit for SC and ST category candidates is 21 to 35 years.

Number of Attempts: General category candidates can attempt for 4 times, OBC’s for 7 times and SC / ST’s for 11 times.

Important Dates to remember regarding Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2014:

  • Official Notification will be announced on 17th May 2014.
  • Applications to be received on or before 16th June 2014
  • Examination will be held on 24th August 2014
  • This examination will be held only for one day.
