Preparation Strategy

Several people have requested me to formulate a strategy to qualify UGC NET as they’ve left their studies years before. But this post would help those also who want to adopt a new strategy after successive failures. Moreover in this post I’ve tried to integrate the various posts of the blog so that you may easily access them.
First and foremost it is essential to assess whether you would be willing to INVEST at least 4/6 hours daily or not.

1. Start with the NCERT: It’ll serve two purposes first you’d able to reassess your level of familiarity with the material and secondly it’d act as a catalyst in consolidating the remnants of Psychology which has decayed over a long period of time.

2. Understanding the Exam Pattern: Pattern Of Examination

As per an official notification released by CBSE, UGC NET exam pattern is changed. Check UGC NET 2018 exam pattern below:

UGC NET 2018 Exam Pattern: Going forward, UGC NET will consist of two different papers (Paper I, II) conducted in two sessions. Candidates will need to appear for these two papers in order to be eligible for JRF and Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor only.

The official website informs, “Paper I is designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.” The website also informs, “All the questions of Paper II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper II & Paper III (including all electives, without options).”

Marking scheme: Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There is no negative marking in the exam.

3. Time Management: Clubbed with hard work and determination, time management is the key to crack the entry – level test for the UGC NET JRF Psychology . Besides being able to strategize time by focusing on the easier subjects first followed by the tough ones; one should also know the skill to attempt all questions in given time. It means a candidate has to spill not more than 36 seconds per question. Try attempting 80% questions with 90 % accuracy to be a step closer to your goal.

4. Preparing for Exam: Time needed  for cracking UGC NET JRF Psychology exam depends upon when are you starting to prepare. Ideally one should prepare 6-8 months before the exam. 4-6 hours is enough if you are using them in proper direction. Otherwise students who start preparing along with job or in less span of time should factor in the other factors and increase the time frame for preparation. Candidates preparing for UGC NET JRF Psychology  are expected to have good knowledge of Psychology. For this purpose, the candidate should focus on preparing from NCERT books.

5. Need Help: UGC NET JRF Psychology  can be easily cracked with right effort in right direction and working on your weak points.   • STRATEGY 1: Going through all  previous papers is first advice to any student preparing for UGC NET JRF Psychology . Go through assorted model test papers.   • STRATEGY 2: Study all Probable questions there are good teachers in all parts of country, especially Delhi is hub of well trained and very experienced teachers who have good experience in teaching. Try to get all those probable questions from those teachers and study that too.
  • STRATEGY 3: Practice, Practice and Practice attempt as many mock test as possible. Even at home, when you attempt mock test papers pay special attention to maintain the time factor. More practice will make you more perfect. Try to identify your weakness and try eliminating them through practice or external help.
